Lists and the board now show which tasks are held up, which ones hold others up, and which are free to start.

• improvement: A planned block starts on the minute, on Mac. No more line and ten seconds to wait: when a block of yours begins, the coach grows for a moment, turns amber with a soft chime, says what started and until when, then settles into your focus timer. Changed your mind? Undo stays on the coach for a minute, logs nothing and leaves the block where it was. If you were away, it starts when you are back, as long as ten minutes are left. The chime can be turned off in Settings, The coach. It comes with the next update for Mac.
• improvement: UnaTask 1.19.0 for Mac is out. Press < or > in a task to add the one that comes before or after, see links in your lists and on the board, get free hours when the hour you asked for is taken, write to someone by voice, and enjoy the new chat and the lighter look. The app updates itself the next time it restarts.
• feature: Links show in your lists and on the board. A red lock with a number says how many open tasks this one is waiting on. A violet arrow says how many are waiting on it. A green Ready shows up when everything it waited on is done and you have not started it yet. Hover to see the names. They update on their own when a task is finished or a link changes.
• improvement: Agents can link both ways. Through the UnaTask MCP server, update_dependencies now also takes blocks_add and blocks_remove, so an assistant can say which tasks wait on this one, not only what this one waits on. Loops are refused the same way.
• improvement: A taken hour gives you a way through, on Mac. When you ask the coach for a time that is already booked, it no longer stops you. The same boxes as a right click come out from behind the coach, or below it in the notch: the first free time right after, the first free times on the next days, and what is already there, with Keep if you want both. Click one or press 1 to 4, and Esc takes you back to what you typed. It comes with UnaTask 1.19.0 for Mac.
• improvement: Faces and roles when you hand out a task from a call. Picking who takes it now shows everyone's photo, and each AI teammate's role next to its name, so you know which one you are handing it to before you click. The role stays on the button once you pick. On the Mac it comes with the next update, in the call's tasks and in Ask AI.
• feature: Write to whoever booked, from the Mac. A booking's card now lists the person who booked it and the hosts, each with a copy button for their address, plus Email everyone, the same as on the web. If you have an AI teammate, Draft it with opens its private room with the request already written: who it goes to, the hour, and what they told you when they booked. Add what you want to say and press Ask. It comes with UnaTask 1.19.0 for Mac.

The notetaker gets let in, and the coach takes messages

Your notetaker knocks with a name calls let in, and you can write to a teammate without opening anything.

• feature: Add the task that comes before, or after. Open a task and press < for one it waits on, or > for one it unlocks. The coach asks what it is, who takes it and when, with an answer already picked, and links the two for you. The task panel now shows both sides: Waiting on, and Unlocks, with a line under the title that says who is waiting on this one. When you finish it, it tells you which tasks are ready to start. A link that would make two tasks wait on each other is refused. On the Mac it comes with the next update.
• fix: Click the coach itself to finish, on Mac. With the coach in the notch, the island opened as your pointer arrived and the coach slid away, so a click on its face did nothing and only the check in its corner worked. Now the coach answers wherever you click it: it finishes the task you are on, or ends the call for you, with Undo for a few seconds as before. It comes with UnaTask 1.19.0 for Mac.
• fix: The number on the coach opens again, on Mac. With the coach in the notch, a click on it with a count showing did nothing, because the island opened and the face moved out from under your click. Now a click anywhere on the island opens what came in, and the list stays open until you press Done or Later. It comes with UnaTask 1.19.0 for Mac.
• improvement: No more cream. The warm yellowish paper behind the app and the site is gone. Backgrounds are now white and soft grey, so text reads cleaner and the colors you pick for projects stand out. The logo, the loading screen, the Gmail and Outlook add on, the emails we send you and the picture that shows up when you share a link to the site follow along. Same on the Mac, note editor included, with its next update.
• improvement: The chat has a new look. Messages are bubbles on a light wallpaper, yours on the right in black. The list of rooms comes first and shows the last thing said in each one, with the time, so you can see where the talk is without opening anything. When you ask Nora or another AI teammate something in a channel, the answer now sits right under your question instead of behind a reply count. It works in dark mode too, and the same look is on its way to the Mac and the iPhone.
• fix: Ask Nora from your iPhone. A question to an AI teammate written on the phone now gets its answer, right under the question, the way it already did on the web and the Mac. Until now it stayed unanswered. It comes with the next iPhone update.
• feature: See who is in a call before you write. A direct conversation says In a call under the name, and the list beside it does too, when the other person has a meeting on their calendar right now, is on a team call, or the microphone on their Mac is taken by a call in another app. Until now it showed only after you pressed Call. The Mac part comes with UnaTask 1.19.0 for Mac.
• improvement: A message to somebody in a call arrives at once. It used to wait for the call to end. Now it is there whenever they open UnaTask, and by default it stays quiet: no pop up and no buzz on the phone, only the count, while urgent ones still show without a sound. To be told as usual during calls, turn off Quiet during a call in your chat settings. When it can't wait, Urgent sits beside Send, on the site and on Mac, or press Shift Option Return. Only a focus holds messages now.
• feature: Write to someone by voice, on Mac. Hold Option Command J and say the name, then the message: "Serena, I'm running late". Holding Control and Space works too, with "tell Serena" or "scrivi a Serena" in front. The coach sends it as a direct message, no window opens, and it says back who it went to and what it said. If two people share the name, or it can't find them, it asks instead of guessing.
• improvement: A quick note without the calendar, on Mac. A tap on Option Command J, or Command J, opens the message card on its own, right under the coach, over whatever app you are in. The main window stays where it is. Pick a name, write, press Return and it is gone.
• fix: The notetaker gets into your calls again. Since Wednesday it knocked as "Your name's notetaker" and Google Meet kept it waiting outside. It knocks as UnaTask Notetaker again, the name calls were letting in.
• feature: Write your own task after a call, on Mac. When the coach shows what a call proposed and none of it is what you agreed, Write your own opens a blank task for that call, with who does it, when and how urgent. It is still there after you skip everything.
• fix: Your colleagues are always in the list. If your team failed to load once, the coach offered only AI teammates until you restarted the app. Now it says so, tries again on its own, and gives the heard owner back as soon as your team arrives.
• fix: No one yet means no one. Choosing No one yet, or handing a task to an AI teammate, no longer puts the person the notetaker heard back on it.
• feature: Give a call task to someone from any of your workspaces, on Mac. The coach now lists the people you work with everywhere, not only in the call's workspace. If they are not in the project the list goes to, the task goes to an Inbox they can see, and the coach tells you which one.
• fix: A task from a call is never added with nobody on it by mistake. If the person you picked could not be given it where it was going, the task used to be created anyway, unassigned. Now it lands where they work, or you are told why it cannot.

UnaTask 1.18.0 for Mac

Meetings on your Mac now feels like the site.

• improvement: UnaTask 1.18.0 for Mac is out. Meetings has the same day sections, filters and large call panel as the site, Projects has a list view, and adding a guest no longer closes the meeting you are drawing. The app updates itself the next time it restarts.

Meetings on Mac, the way they are on the web

The Mac app now lists and opens your calls exactly like the site does.

• improvement: Your calls by day, with the same filters. Meetings on Mac lists every call in day sections, and you can narrow it by date, by workspace, to just your calls, or to one person. Typing a date finds the call too.
• improvement: Each call says where it stands. A row shows how many action items are still to sort, whether it was shared with you, and why the notetaker missed it, for example "Not let in" when nobody admitted it.
• improvement: A call opens big. The video and the transcript sit on the left, the summary and the action items on the right. Fix an action item where it is, pick who and when, then press Create task.

Type "evento" and a name, the meeting is made

Drawing a meeting on the calendar now invites who you name, and stays open while you add them.

• improvement: "evento Filippo" invites Filippo. The word evento (or event) turns what you are drawing into a meeting and leaves the title. Name a teammate, paste an address, or name a client you invited before, and they are asked. A meeting with no other name is called after the people in it, like "Daniele and Filippo".
• fix: Adding someone no longer closes the meeting on Mac. Clicking into "Add a name or an email" used to close the block you were drawing before you could type. It now stays open until you are done, and "+ People" fits on one line.

Comparison pages, checked again

We reread the pricing pages of the tools we compare ourselves with, so the numbers you see are this month's.

• fix: Sunsama and Reclaim prices are current. Sunsama is now $17 a month billed yearly, and Reclaim starts at $10. Our pages still said what they cost in June.
• improvement: The Motion, Akiflow and Todoist comparisons were checked too, and each page now says it was checked in November.

The notetaker gets into calls other people host

When someone outside your team invites you, the notetaker now knocks with your name and tells you if it is stuck outside.

• fix: The notetaker knocks with your name. In a call someone else hosts, it now asks to join with your first name, like "Sara's notetaker", so the host knows who it belongs to and lets it in. A name your workspace chose stays as it is.
• fix: You hear about it while the call is still on. If nobody lets the notetaker in, you get a notification within a few minutes, so you can ask the host to admit it before the call is over.
• fix: Meetings tells you why a call has no recording. A call the notetaker could not get into now shows "Not let in" instead of staying "Scheduled" forever.

• improvement: UnaTask 1.17.0 for Mac is out. One click on the coach finishes your task or ends a call for you, ⌥⌘C opens your calendar from any app, and ⌘J reaches everyone in every workspace. The app updates itself the next time it restarts.

A call that ends early gives the time back

When a call is over for you, the rest of its hour is yours again.

• feature: End a call when it is over for you. On the Mac, a click on the coach's face during a call ends it for you. The event keeps its length for everyone else, on Google too. The rest of it becomes free time on your calendar, and for teammates asking who is free.
• improvement: Your calendar shows the time you got back. The part of the call after you left is drawn faded and hatched, with a note saying how many minutes are free. Planning on the web and on the Mac counts it as free too, and a task you drop into it stays booked.
• feature: One click finishes the task in hand. On the Mac, a click on the coach's face marks the task you are working on as done, with Undo for a few seconds in case you did not mean it.
• feature: ⌘ click on the coach opens the same thing in the UnaTask window, for when you want it at full size.
• feature: Open your calendar from any app. Pick a shortcut in the Mac app Settings, and your calendar comes up wherever you are.
• improvement: A quieter task beside the coach. The task card next to the coach no longer has a comment box, so it holds only what you need while you work.
• improvement: Free time you can use. When you are free, a click anywhere on the coach's card opens today's calendar on the free time, and the card offers something to do in it instead of starting your next block early. Add is right beside it when you want to write a task.
• improvement: Open UnaTask from every fan. Right click the coach and the last box always opens the app, on your task or on today's calendar, with ⌘O written on it.

⌘J reaches everyone you work with

Write to anybody in any of your workspaces, from wherever you are.

• improvement: ⌘J works in every workspace. It used to stay quiet when the workspace on screen had no team chat. Now it lists the people and channels of all your workspaces, and a name you only have in one writes there, without switching. When the same person is in more than one, the row says which workspace it goes to.
• feature: On the Mac, ⌥⌘J works from any app. The message card comes up over whatever you are doing, the way ⌥⌘K brings up search.
• feature: Pick your own keys. Both keys can be changed in Settings: on the web under Preferences, Keyboard, and in the Mac app in its own Settings.
• fix: ⌘J is never swallowed by the page. A text editor or a field with the cursor in it could keep the key for itself. The card now opens first.

One card at a time

The coach no longer piles its cards on top of each other.

• fix: The coach opens one thing at a time on the Mac. When the cards fanned out around the coach while a list was open above it, like who is waiting on you or the end of day wrap up, they landed on top of each other. Now the list steps aside while the cards are out and comes back when you close them. The same goes for an open task and a chat message.

One logo, everywhere

The small black square is gone. The coach is the logo at every size.

• improvement: One logo. Where the mark was drawn small, in the sidebar, the site header, the browser tab and the email extension, it used to turn into a solid black square with two eyes. Now it is the same light coach you see everywhere else.

Calls in your Knowledge

What a call decided can now live next to the rest of what your team knows.

• feature: Add a call to Knowledge. Open a call and choose Add to Knowledge: its summary and action items arrive as an entry you can edit before saving, on the web and on the Mac.
• improvement: The entry links back to the call, so the transcript and the video are one click away, and the call shows it is already in Knowledge.

A quieter, quicker Mac app

UnaTask 1.16.0 for Mac rests when you do and keeps up with your hand when you drag.

• improvement: The Mac app rests when you do. Left alone, it now uses a small fraction of the processor it used to, so your battery and fans notice less of it. The coach takes a few breaths when something changes, then goes still.
• improvement: A block you carry follows your hand. Dragging or resizing on the calendar moves smoothly with the pointer, and an outline shows exactly where it will land.
• fix: While you draw a block, clicking another hour moves the drawing there instead of emptying the grid.
• fix: On some setups with two displays the window kept refitting itself and kept the Mac busy. It settles now.
• improvement: View, Refresh (⌘R) reads everything again, Google events included.

All your tasks on the dashboard, and the ones you finished

Nothing assigned to you goes missing from Mine anymore, and done work is easy to find again.

• improvement: Everything else. At the bottom of Mine, a new card holds every open task of yours that the cards above leave out: in progress, booked on another day, due later, with no date, or parked for Someday. It starts folded with the count in view, and remembers whether you opened it.
• feature: Done this week. What you checked off since Monday now sits on the right of Mine, newest first. Uncheck one to reopen it, or follow See all to your whole history.
• improvement: A way back. Checking a task off on the dashboard tells you where it went and gives you Undo, for the click that slipped.
• improvement: On the Mac, the same two cards and a full history of what you finished are in 1.16.0.

Mac updates arrive while you are away

You no longer have to quit UnaTask for a new version to reach you.

• improvement: Updates install by themselves. When a new version has downloaded and your Mac has sat untouched for an hour, UnaTask restarts into it and shows you what changed when you are back. Never during a call or a focus session. The Restart button in the sidebar is still there if you would rather do it now. In 1.15.0 for Mac, for every update after it.

Share a screenshot with a teammate

What you see on your phone can go straight to the person who needs it.

• feature: Share as a message. When you share a screenshot to UnaTask on the iPhone, a switch on top now offers Task or Message. Pick Message, choose a teammate or a channel (the people you wrote to last come first), add a line if you like, and Send. If they are in focus it waits until they finish, and the card tells you so. Open in UnaTask takes you to the conversation. Coming in the next iPhone update.

The team chat, whole, on your iPhone

Chat has its own tab on the phone, and a team call rings it like a real call.

• feature: A Chat tab. Who is free right now, your channels and your directs, each with its last line and what is waiting for you. The pencil starts a direct, a group or a channel.
• feature: Everything a room does on the Mac. Photos and files from the +, Catch me up when a lot came in, and a long press that makes a task, saves to Knowledge or hands the message to an AI teammate. Writing to someone in focus, you choose: it arrives when they finish, it goes now as urgent, or you book ten minutes after.
• feature: A call rings for real. Your iPhone rings with the system call screen, even locked. Decline, and a note lets you say why in one tap, offer the next ten minutes you are both free, or write a line.
• improvement: Messages and missed calls reach a closed app. Your phone now registers for notifications, and they start arriving as soon as the push service is switched on.

Write it now, send it later

A message can wait for the right moment: tomorrow morning, Monday, or whenever your teammate starts their day.

• feature: Send later, beside every Send. In the team chat, in a thread, in ⌘J and in the coach's reply box, the arrow next to Send (or ⌥Return) offers in an hour, when they start their day, Monday morning, or a time you pick. In a channel the second choice is tomorrow morning.
• feature: Waiting messages stay yours. A scheduled message sits at the foot of its room with a dashed outline, and only you can see it. Edit it, change the time, send it now, or delete it before anyone reads it. Scheduled in the sidebar lists them all.
• feature: `@vera tomorrow 9: the invoice is out` in the quick add. Where your team chat is open, a name and a colon make a message instead of a task, and a time before the colon sends it then. A day alone means when they start. If their clock reads differently from yours, the line underneath shows both.
• improvement: Messages land where they arrived. A message that waited, for a focus or for its hour, now shows up in the order it arrived and counts as unread, instead of hiding above what you already read.
• improvement: Urgent moved to ⇧⌥Return. ⌥Return now opens Send later everywhere, so the urgent shortcut for someone in focus gained a Shift. The It's urgent button is where it was.

Something for today gets a time

Write a task for today and the coach looks at your day for you.

• feature: The coach finds room today. Add something for today without an hour, close the box, and the coach comes up from the corner with up to three free times it fits in. Book one, ignore it and keep the task on Today with no time, or cancel it. Every answer has an Undo.
• feature: On a full day it asks what can wait. When nothing is free, the coach suggests something of yours from later today that could move to your next working day, or offers to move the new one instead. Anything due today stays where it is, and nothing moves until you say so.
• feature: On the Mac and the iPhone too. On the Mac the coach asks right in its add box, with your day as a strip and 1, 2, 3 to pick. On the iPhone it asks in the capture sheet before it goes.

Undo means all of it

Two small things on the teammate pages that now hold up the way you would expect.

• fix: Undo puts the estimate back too. Booking the late ones gives a task with no estimate the length of its block. Undo now clears it again, along with the blocks.
• fix: Renaming a connection keeps its record. An AI teammate's page tells how each connection has been doing by the connection itself, not its name, so a new name no longer starts it over at Not used yet.
• fix: Add in the coach's capture box answers the click. On the Mac a click on Add could sometimes pass straight through to the desktop, so nothing happened. It lands on the button now.
• fix: A file you drop or paste while writing a task goes on the task. On the Mac, dropping a file on the coach as you typed, or pasting one with ⌘V, could miss it entirely. Files and screenshots now land on the task you are writing, and words still paste as words.
• improvement: Throw a file at the coach to start a task. On the Mac, drop a PDF or an image on the coach, even when it is tucked into the edge of the screen, and it opens a new task with the file attached and named after it, leaving the line free for you to write the details.
• improvement: A Cancel you can see. When the coach's box asks about an hour that is already taken, Cancel now sits beside Add as a real button. Nothing is written until you choose.
• fix: The Mac sidebar is whole or closed. It could come up squeezed to half its width, every label cut to its first letters. It now goes back to full width on its own, and the sidebar button still closes it when you want the room.
• feature: Share a screenshot to UnaTask. On the iPhone, tap Share on any screenshot and pick UnaTask. Write what it is about, the way you would in the capture bar, so "tomorrow at 10" puts it on your calendar and #project sends it there. Tap Add and it becomes a task with the picture attached, with a button to open it right away. Links and text work too. Coming in the next iPhone update.

A call you can hear

When a teammate calls you, it rings until you answer, and the caller can see that it does.

• improvement: A call rings now. When someone calls you from team chat, a soft ring plays until you press Join, In 5 min or Not now, or they hang up. It stays quiet if you turned chat sounds off or set calls below Sound. On the Mac in 1.14.1.
• improvement: Clearer words while you call. The card says Calling and the person or room, with Ringing and the seconds underneath, and tells you when the call went out as urgent.

The people pages, the chat from every workspace and the calls that hold reach the Mac app. Update from the app.

• feature: A teammate's page, and an AI teammate's page, on the Mac. See where someone stands, book their late ones into the free hours of their week with Undo, and see what an AI teammate waits on you for, how its work gets used and what it spent this month.
• feature: Messages from every workspace, at your volume. The coach brings chat messages from all your workspaces, by the rules you picked, and right click in a chat opens the fan.
• fix: Calls that hold. The Meet now always reaches the person you call, a channel can be called, and pressing Call, Join or Hang up twice is fine.

Member pages, filled in

The late ones go into the week from a teammate's page, and an AI teammate's page says more about how it really does.

• feature: Book the late ones into their week. On a teammate's page, the This week card can place their late tasks with no time booked into the free hours left in their working week. You see the list first, Book them puts it on their calendar, and Undo takes back exactly what was placed. Admins and PMs see it for the team, and you see it on your own page.
• improvement: How an AI teammate's connections are doing. Each one says whether it worked lately, whether its last call failed and why, or that it has not been used yet, from the teammate's own runs.
• improvement: Redone counts on its own. How it does now tells drafts used as is, corrected and sent back for another go apart, and shows not usable only when there is some.
• improvement: Three first jobs for a new AI teammate. Before it has done anything, its page offers three tasks that suit its job, and a click hands one over.
• improvement: See which Knowledge it reads. What it can reach now counts the notes its runs had in front of them this month and names the most read ones.

Pressing twice is fine

When a call takes a second to answer, pressing again no longer gets in the way.

• fix: Call, Join and Hang up can be pressed twice. A second press now finds the first one already done and carries on with it. Pressing Call again no longer starts a new call over the one still asking, a second Join no longer closes the card, and Hang up leaves a single missed call line.
• fix: One Meet, even with two devices open. If your Mac and the site both opened the same call, the second Meet is removed and everybody lands in the first one. On the Mac this arrives with the next update.

Who is where, people and AI

A teammate's page now says where they stand, and an AI teammate gets a page of its own.

• improvement: A teammate's page tells you where they stand. One sentence on what is late and by how much, the hours booked this week against their working hours, and their tasks grouped by project with the Inbox last. Each task says whether it has time booked, how often it was pushed back, and whether it came from a call, from a teammate or from them. Pick a few and move them, hand them on, give them a new deadline or mark them done, with Undo.
• feature: An AI teammate has a page of its own. Open it from its row on the Team page to see the drafts waiting for your verdict, how often its work gets used, what it spent this month next to the team's total, the rules it has proposed for your yes, what it can reach and who hands it work.

Calls that reach the room

Every call leaves a line in the chat now, and you can call a whole channel.

• fix: Join opens the call again when you call from the Mac. The Mac could make the Meet and then lose it before handing it over, so the person who said Join waited and nothing opened. The link now always reaches them. This arrives with the next Mac update.
• improvement: Every call leaves a line in the chat. A call nobody answered, or one you hung up before they did, now shows up as 📞 Missed call, even when you closed the app while it was still asking. And if a call was accepted but never opened, the chat says so, so nobody is left waiting.
• feature: Call a whole channel. Call in a channel now asks everybody there who is free, with the same card in the corner. The first to join opens the Meet, and whoever joins after goes straight into it. People in focus or already on a call are left alone, and they find the link in the channel. On the Mac it comes with the next update.

Right click in the chat

The chat answers a right click the way the calendar does, with a few boxes that know what you clicked.

• feature: A message opens a fan of boxes. Right click a message and it offers what fits it: a reply in one click, a task with the due date read from the text, 45 minutes booked on your real free hours, a hand off to a teammate or an AI teammate, a reaction, or Not now, which brings it back unread later.
• feature: A time in a message can be booked. When someone writes "tomorrow at 10", the right click checks both calendars and books it if you are both free, or offers other times you both have.
• feature: Your own messages. Edit in place, see who has read it, and when you wrote a time ("tonight", "Tuesday at 10") make it a task already on your calendar. Delete asks for a second click.
• feature: Channels, people and files too. A channel offers Catch me up, a call, how it notifies you and who is in it. A person shows their day and ten minutes you are both free. A file opens, downloads, or goes to your AI teammate to summarize.
• improvement: Copy text, Copy link, Mark unread and Select sit in a small strip under the boxes. Hold Shift for the browser menu, and the ⋯ on a message still lists everything.

Work and Team, easier to read

The switch at the top now says what it does.

• improvement: Work ⇄ Team. The switch in the top bar is now one button with swap arrows between the two sides, and the side you are on is underlined. The X beside it is gone, so nothing looks like a close button anymore. X still flips it from the keyboard, as the tooltip says.

The coach brings your messages

A message for you comes out of the coach, at the volume you choose.

• feature: The coach tells you when someone writes. On the site it comes up from the corner with the message and a field to answer it, without opening the chat. Leave it alone and it keeps it on its shoulder for your next pause, so nothing is lost.
• feature: Choose how messages reach you. In Settings, Notifications, pick a way of working, from Tap me when it matters to Keep it for my breaks, or set each kind by hand: a number, the coach, the coach with a sound. Focus, calls and your working hours are part of it.
• feature: A room can be louder or quieter. The bell at the top of a room sets it to every message, only when you are mentioned, or nothing.
• improvement: A tab in the background says it. The title and the icon count what came while you were elsewhere, and the coach asks once, at the right moment, whether your browser may tap your shoulder next time.
